Axon has been developed for the Microsoft platform. The readers that do not have this platform at their disposal will have to satisfy themselves with the HTML presentations. The readers that are using Microsoft Windows are advised to download the Light version of Axon, install it on their machines and make use of the Axon files.
The advantages of using Axon instead of HTML are:

The Axon release of May 2000 made it possible to generate HTML files. Since they do not require special actions they are included in this publication in order to enable the reader to get a first impression. Those HTML files however do not offer the same possibilities as the Axon files.
The disadvantages are:
- No possibility for internal navigation
- This has a drawback on readability while space has to be reserved for navigation; a LapTop soon exceeds limits
- It is not possible to work with multiple levels and exploded views
- Browsers abound. With the currently used versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape the clickable images work. But beware, if an open text-frame is not closed before a next concept is clicked the browser assumes that you want to see the image.
- The images are not scalable and with some colour combinations the images tend to blur.
